Meeting time: 10 a.m.

Meeting location: Day use parking lot at Caribou Provincial Park

Timeframe for hike: 7k (flat terrain / walking on sand, seaweed, rocks (potential to be wet and bugs!))


Friday, June 14th

Location: Green Hill

Meeting time: 10 a.m.

Meeting location: Green Hill Provincial Park parking lot

Timeframe for hike: 5k (Half on a quiet road and half on a trial) Moderate


Y Hikes
The YMCA will offer a series of hikes and information sessions this spring.

Hike Lead
Alasdair has hiked for his work as a wildlife biologist and for recreation over the past 40 years in Newfoundland, Labrador, the Northwest Territories, and now in Nova Scotia. He hiked for 5 years in the Torngat Mountains of northern Labrador (1989-1993), completed the 357 km Canol Heritage Trail from the Mackenzie River in the NWT to the Yukon border (1995), and was the first Canadian hiker to complete the 950 km Scottish National Trail (2014). Alasdair is a certified Hike Leader with the Outdoor Council of Canada and is a Committee Member with the Cape to Cape Trails Committee of the Pictou County Trails Association.
